CMS x iSchool Student Exchange Program

The 4-day P.5 exchange program between Catholic Mission School and iSchool, Hainan, was successfully held from 9th to 12th December, 2025. This event marked a significant milestone in cross-cultural learning. The program commenced with a welcome ceremony where students were paired as "Learning Buddies," immediately immersing iSchool students in our school life and fostering genuine peer interaction.

A major highlight of the exchange was the "Ding Ding Community Tour." Students traveled across Hong Kong Island by tram, documenting the unique characteristics and history of different communities from West to East. This exploration culminated in a dynamic sharing session where buddy groups presented their findings using STEAM elements, showcasing their geographical and cultural insights.

During the cultural exchange session, students gained a deeper understanding of the similarities and differences in the daily cultures of the two regions by comparing the culinary traditions of Hainan's "Old Dad Tea" and Guangdong's "One Cup, Two Pieces." This not only enriched the students' learning experiences but also strengthened their recognition and emotional connection to the diversity of Chinese culture through the exchange. Additionally, iSchool students were invited to have dinner at the homes of their local student buddies, personally experiencing local family life, which further promoted cultural exchange and deepened emotional bonds.

The program concluded with a touching farewell ceremony and sharing session. We are grateful for the enthusiastic participation of all students and host families, whose support made this exchange a memorable journey of friendship and cultural discovery.

CMS x iSchool

National Security Education Exhibitions and Diverse Scientific Exploration

On December 16th, all students successfully participated in a National Security Education exhibition, aimed at effectively strengthening students' awareness of National Security. Students visited themed exhibits in the history museum and engaged in diverse learning activities at the science center. These activities covered a wide range of scientific topics. For example, students learned about Earth's structure (crust, mantle, core) through hands-on activities, studied the principles of closed circuits and electrical safety, and explored motion and aerodynamics (such as helmet design for cyclists). Additionally, students examined insect body structures (head, thorax, abdomen) and explored microscopic life like Euglena. Older students delved into species adaptations and binomial nomenclature. This event successfully combined civic education with scientific exploration, providing students with a comprehensive learning experience.
