Congratulations to Our Chinese Folk Dance team for their outstanding performance in the 60^th Schools Dance Festival. Their collaborative spirit and elegant dance movements are commendable. This accolade is a testament of their dedication and practice, highlighting their skill and teamwork.

中華文化周 Chinese Culture Week

中華文化周
為了讓本校學生能從不同的學習經歷去體驗和認識中華文化的特色。因此，本校在新年來臨前，一連三日舉辦了中華文化週活動，讓學生透過不同的活動更深入地去認識中國的傳統節日-新年。 在2月5日至2月7日期間，P4的部分學生到大圍的東華三院冼次雲學校參加他們的中華文化日和參觀位於沙田的車公廟，並在該學校欣賞舞獅表演和製作賀年食品盆菜。此外，本校亦派出有十二名高年級的服務大使前往南丫島，與天主教路德聖母幼稚園學生一同到社區預先慶祝農曆新年的來臨，以舞師表演向社區人士和區民呈送祝福，氣氛相當熱鬧。在此衷心致謝本校家長教師會成員在文化週期間，走進各班課室與學生一同製作傳統賀年食品-蛋散。讓學生能在享受美食之餘，亦增加了認識中華文化的興趣。其他年級的學生也參加了茶文化工作坊，目的是學生透過五感去感受中國的茶文化，以全新的體驗去更深入認識中華文化。

Chinese Culture WeekIn order to provide different learning experiences for our students to understand the characteristics of our Chinese culture, a Chinese Culture Week was organised before Chinese New Year.From 5th to 7th February, some of our P.4 students participated in a Chinese Culture Day which was held in Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Sin Tsz Wan School (STWS) in Tai Wai. Our students enjoyed the lion dance performance and used clay to make the Chinese New Year food ‘Poon Choi’ with STWS’ P.4 students in classrooms. We also visited the Che Kung Temple in Sha Tin.Additionally, 12 senior students served as ambassadors and visited Lamma Island, where they joined students from Our Lady of Lutheran Catholic Kindergarten in performing traditional dances and offering New Year blessings to the community, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere.

We would like to express our gratitude to all members of the Parent-Teacher Association who, during Cultural Week, collaborated with students in their respective classrooms to make traditional New Year delicacies - "egg twists," allowing students to not only enjoy delicious food but also cultivate an interest in understanding Chinese culture. 
Students from other grades also participated in a tea culture workshop, aimed at enabling students to experience and understand Chinese culture more deeply through the senses. We believe that these activities have provided our students with valuable opportunities to immerse themselves in and appreciate the richness of Chinese culture.
 

CMS Presentation Day 總堂學習成果展示日

CMS Smarties Presentation Day “Journey to the West”

On January 27th, 2024, CMS Smarties successfully held a Presentation Day. During this event, they showcased their talents and celebrated their learning achievements as expressive storytellers. Both teachers and students demonstrated their compassion and team spirit through the positive value reading program theme of "Journey to the West." The character strengths from the story came alive during the Presentation Day, fostering personal growth for each participant.

Students from P.1 to P.4 presented their learning journey in different key learning areas within their classrooms, while P.5 and P.6 students delivered impressive performances in the hall. In addition, a group of senior-level students incorporated immersive theatre into four famous scenes from the story: the Mountain of Flowers and Fruit, the Flaming Mountain, the Cave of the Silken Web, and the Heavenly Palace. Their engaging performance provided interactive experiences for young children and parents, stimulating all five senses and resulting in a highly successful Presentation Day.

We would like to express our gratitude for the strong support of parents, teachers, teaching staff, janitors, and others who have connected everyone in the CMS community and made the event even more meaningful. Together, we have instilled a love of reading in every child's heart, emphasizing the importance of reading for learning, living, and leading a fulfilled life. This event marked a significant milestone in the middle of the school year, and we will carry these character strengths and positive values forward as lifelong learners, spreading compassion, commitment, courage, and love to one another. We eagerly look forward to another successful Presentation Day next year.

總堂學習成果展示日——「西遊記」

一年一度的學習成果展示日於1月27日在學校成功舉行。在這次展示日中，同學們化身為西遊記的角色，自信地向蒞臨的家長及嘉賓們展現了他們這一階段的學習成果。老師和同學們齊心合力，讓故事中角色的美德及品格優點展現得淋漓盡致，讓每個參與的人都在學習旅程中得到了成長。

這次的成果展示日，每一位同學扮演不同的角色，在故事情節中盡情發揮才能，用歌聲傳遞心聲，用語言表達愛。不論是五、六年級的禮堂匯演，還是一至四年級的教室表演，同學們都能同心協力地透過情景化的故事，將知識與學習趣味融合，演繹出富有創意的表演。此外，高年級學生更將故事的四個著名場景：花果山、火焰山、盤絲洞和天宮融入到了沉浸式戲劇中。他們引人入勝的表演以及有趣的五感互動為到來的觀衆提供了近距離的精彩體驗。

這次展示日有賴於每個人的積極參與和支持才能令整個活動順利完成。我們共同在每個孩子的心中種下了對閱讀熱愛的種子，從閱讀中學習，從閱讀中學會品味生命的意義，成為終生學習者。透過是次活動，亦能讓我們向彼此傳播仁愛、承擔、勇毅和愛。讓我們共同期待明年的相聚！
