Students Step Back in Time at The Helena May for a Wonderland Tea Party
On 15th November, 2024, 30 students from our school recently enjoyed a memorable day at The Helena May, a historic landmark in Hong Kong. Themed around Alice in Wonderland, the event combined history with the magic of a tea party.
The Helena May, unchanged since its construction in 1914, served as a perfect setting for our adventure into the past. The event began with a guided tour where students learned about the building's history and architecture, highlighting its blend of Chinese and Western elements. After the tour, the students participated in an afternoon tea party. This was not only a chance to enjoy tasty treats but also an opportunity to learn about dining etiquette.
Our students were particularly impressed by how The Helena May merges different cultural influences, providing a practical example of eastern and western traditions coming together. To show their gratitude, each student wrote a thank you note for the insightful experience. This day was not just fun but also educational, emphasising the importance of preserving cultural heritage.
梅夫人婦女會茶會活動
於11月15日, 我校30名學生最近在香港的歷史地標梅夫人婦女會享受了一天難忘的時光。此活動以《愛麗絲夢遊仙境》為主題，將歷史與茶會的古典氛圍完美結合。
自1914年建成以來，梅夫人婦女會歷久彌新，為我們探索歷史提供了絕佳場所。活動開始時，學生通過導覽了解建築歷史與風格，其中西合璧之元素，尤為引人注目。
導覽後，學生們參加了一場下午茶會，透過品嘗英式下午茶，學習了餐桌禮儀。
學生們對梅夫人婦女會如何融合中西文化感到格外驚喜，並深感保護歷史古蹟之重要。
為了表達感謝，每位學生都撰寫了一封感謝信給梅夫人婦女會茶以感謝對方安排富有啟發性的學習經歷。
此行不僅充滿樂趣, 更具教育意義，彰顯文化遺產守護神之必要。
