SDG Junior Ambassador Programme 2019 Opening Ceremony

On 10th of March, 2019, 11 students who led by a teacher and 20 parents participating in the “SDG Junior Ambassador Programme 2019” launched by the Hong Kong Girl Guides Association collaborates with JCI Hong Kong Jayceettes.

The main theme in 2019 Opening Ceremony was ‘No poverty, Health and well-being, Quality education, Industry innovation and infrastructure, Happiness index and Partnerships for the goals’. The opening ceremony introduced a series of workshops, diversified activities and some books will be published in July, so that students could further understand the Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations in 2015, and the importance of daily life.

The organizers arranged three interesting activities for the students to attend, the first activity was a quiz game, the content was mainly around the background information of the United Nations, the second activity was "big TV" game, the words were the content of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the last activity was "card game", students were divided into two groups, they needed to use their own judgment and memory to analyze where the cards are, and then match in pairs. Through the opening ceremony, students further develop and broaden their international horizons, so that they can have a better understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals, encourage them to take actions to improve the global ecological environment, and moreover to make Hong Kong be a more sustainable city.
