Curriculum Aims:

  • Provide learning experiences for students to cultivate a better understanding of themselves and the world around them.
  • Arouses students' interest in and develop their skills to inquire about themes and issues related to science, technology and society.
  • To enhance students' inquiry and investigative skills for construction of knowledge and independent learning capabilities in Personal, Social and Humanities Education (PSHE), Science Education (SE) and Technology Education (TE).
  • Expand students’ horizons through STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) teaching strategies and classes.
  • Cultivates positive attitudes and values for healthy personal and social development.
  • Develop a sense of national identity and be committed to contributing to the nation and the world.

Learning and Teaching Strategies:

  • Adopt a diversified teaching approach such as the enquiry approach and relevant learning strategies to help students develop generic skills, knowledge, values and attitudes.
  • Use real-life event approach to develop positive values and attitudes, strengthen affective development and nurture a sense of national identity with an international worldview.
  • Facilitate learning through effective and energetic teaching strategies.
  • Stimulate students' interest to enquire and explore with hands-on and problem-solving activities.
  • Make flexible use of textbooks, choose and generate quality learning and teaching resources.
  • Tap community resources to promote life-wide learning through physical outing and guest presenters/ lecturers.

Assessment:

  • Fore teachers and students to identify strengths and weaknesses and to bring about improvement in learning of key themes and concepts, along with abilities in synthesizing, applying, and analyzing information.
  • Use diversified modes of assessment and provide quality feedback in order to improve the curriculum as well as learning and teaching.
