## Mathematics Curriculum Introduction Aims of Mathematics Curriculum

• To steer pupils towards an understanding and command of the basic concept and computation skill in Mathematics;
• To cultivate pupils’ power of thinking, communication, problem-solving and creation;
• To nurture pupils’ numerical sense and spatial sense ; to encourage an appreciation of the order and pattern of number and shape;
• To enhance pupils’ lifelong learning abilities through basic mathematical knowledge;
• To cater for learning differences ability and need.

1. basic computation in whole numbers, fractions, decimals andpercentages,

3. basic strategies for estimating the answers and measures;

4. number sense and spatial sense;

5. collecting and analyzing data;

6. learning to observe, analyse, reason and make judgments;

7. communicating with mathematical language;

8. formulating and solving problems;

9. using modern technology to learn mathematics.
