  • To enrich the school-based Moral and Civic Education curriculum.
  • To establish the school-based curriculum goals for different primary levels and organize the co-curricular activities adhering to the core values of Catholic schools (i.e. love, life, truth, justice and family) and the school motto.
  • To nurture in the students the seven priority values and attitudes, which are “perseverance”, “national identity”, “care for others”, “respect for others”, “integrity”, “responsibility” and “commitment”.
  • To enable students to understand themselves, the social dynamics in the modern society and the present world, and maintain a healthy personal development and thereafter to contribute themselves to the family, the local community, the nation and the world as confident, informed and responsible persons.

  • Enable students to understand themselves, societies and the world at large, maintain a healthy personal development and contribute to a well-being of the family, the local community, the nation and the world as confident, informed and responsible persons.
  • Enable students to recognize what they like and dislike, what is fair and unfair and what is right and wrong; 
  • Enable students to share their opinions on things or issues that matter to themselves and society by discussion and debate in class;
  • Enable students to make responsible choices and decisions by understanding rules and laws, others feelings and needs and respecting of different races.

 

Key Stage 1:

  • Learn about themselves as developing individuals and as members of their communities.
  • Learn the basic rules and skills for keeping themselves healthy and safe and for behaving well.
  • Learn to take responsibilities for themselves and their environment.
  • Learn about their own and other people’s feelings and aware of the views, needs and rights of others in their communities.
  • Learn the social skills --- sharing, taking turns, helping others and solving simple arguments.

 

Key Stage 2:

  • Learn about themselves as growing and changing individuals and understand the important of establishing goals in life;
  • Learn to make more confident and informed choices about their health, environment and communities;
  • Develop their sense of social justice and moral responsibility;
  • —Learn about the wider world and interdependence of communities within it.

 

Knowledge, skills and understanding

  • Academic and Occupational 
  • National and Worldly Matters

Students take part in theme-based learning, peer sharing, group discussion and debates according to the major areas of learning.
